Glen Helen Motocross Madness Matchup #4

Posted: April 11, 2011 in Motocross Madness

The Dual of the KTMs was less a dual and more a lesson. Professor Short showed us all how to dominate the competition. The guy is very popular in the motocross community and it paid off for him in our third matchup of Motocross Madness. Max Nagl had potential, and is a constant podium threat on the FIM World Championship series, but couldn’t compete with Andrew in this one. Number 29 will meet up with either James Stewart of Ben Townley in the quarterfinals. Here is the updated bracket:

The fourth installment of Motocross Madness brings us two non-Americans. We figured that Chad Reed has been racing stateside for long enough that he qualifies. The Aussie has had a rough go in recent years and has finally returned to form after recovering from last year’s injuries. The Two-Two Motorsports Honda rider is in third in the points this season, won in San Diego, and has finished on the podium eight times in 2011. Not a bad rebound after missing most of last year. Chad will be taking on David Philippaerts from Italy on his Monster Energy Yamaha. His name reminds us of Philippides, the hero of ancient Greece whose legendary story gave birth to the Marathon. And for good reason, since Philippaerts seems to finish every race in the top 5 in the FIM World Motocross Championship. He even won a few races and ended up 3rd overall in the series behind Cairoli and Desalle. This should be another good matchup, it’ll be interesting to see how this one plays out. VOTE HERE!
